Late last week, devastating news struck the Mahomes family as Randy Mahomes, the grandfather of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, died.
In January, Mahomes’ mother, Randi, disclosed that her father had entered hospice care. A little more than a month later, he died on Feb. 20, as stated in a message from Mahomes’ mother.
“Challenging to express the feelings of grasping my father’s hand as he ascends to Heaven.” I understand he is in a much better location. I adore you, dad. Great job, faithful and good servant! Matthew 25:23,” she stated in an Instagram post.
Just less than a week later, she posted on Instagram in a joyful mood as Sterling, the eldest child of Patrick and Brittany Mahomes, celebrated his fourth birthday.
“Wishing a joyful 4th birthday to my granddaughter Sterling Skye.” “I will love you endlessly 🩷🩷🩷🩷 #vintageselfie #grateful #grandisgirl,” she wrote in the caption of her Instagram post
Brittany jumped into the comments like many others, sending a four-word note to her mother-in-law. “My daughter is 4 🥹ðŸ˜,” she responded to the picture.
The Mahomes family celebrated the arrival of their second daughter and third child, Golden Raye, during the 2024 NFL season, joining Sterling and their son, Bronze.
Following a harsh defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, the Mahomes family has a reason to rejoice this weekend.
