Detroit Lions edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson openly talked about the ideal situation of playing in Honolulu Blue and Silver next to Myles Garrett someday.
In a recent episode of “The Squeeze” podcast, which stars “Twilight” actor and Lions enthusiast Taylor Lautner along with his wife, Tay, Hutchinson revealed details from a discussion he had with the Cleveland Browns player — as well as Lions quarterback Jared Goff — weeks ago during the NFL Honors event in New Orleans.
“If Myles and I teamed up, it would be lethal, you know?” Hutchinson stated. “I was conversing with him, we were at the Honors, and we were simply discussing what might be.” Though it’s probably not very likely, I believe I would be excited to play alongside him if it were to occur. However, our entire D-line would be significantly elevated, and we would—whew—that would create a daunting defensive line.
“We get along well, also.” I’ve come across him at various events over the past few years. He messaged me after I got injured, which was really nice. Individuals from other teams who contact you—I believe he’s a decent guy. If he shows up, wonderful, but I’m uncertain. We’ll find out. “However, that would be fantastic.”
Earlier this month, Garrett garnered attention after openly seeking a trade from the Browns, expressing a “desire to win” at this point in his career.
Soon after, the Browns reinforced their commitment to not trading the six-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro.
Nevertheless, that hasn’t prevented Hutchinson, the Lions supporters, and a teammate from pondering, “What if?”
Soon after Garrett’s trade demand was revealed, Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown expressed on his podcast that adding a player like Garrett to Detroit would greatly strengthen the defensive line.
“Him along with Aidan (Hutchinson), Alim (McNeill), D.J. (Reader), and our entire D-line?” “Hey, dude!” St. Brown conveyed his excitement.
“I promise, if your D-line is fierce, you don’t require any corners.” You don’t require anything. Simply go along with it.
Since joining the league in 2017, Garrett — the 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year — has averaged a minimum of 12.8 sacks per season and has not recorded fewer than ten sacks in any season since his debut year.
