The internet personality previously admitted she was “tired” of constantly seeing Taylor – who is currently dating Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce – on TV, and Kelly has now shared that she faced strong backlash from fans of the pop star.
Kelly – the wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford – told Us Weekly: “Honestly, I did get a lot of heat from them. I was like, ‘Whoa, I love Taylor.’”
Kelly then attempted to clarify her earlier comments.
She explained: “When you’re always seeing someone on your social media feed, you kind of lose that love, you know? That’s what I meant. I was like, ‘I’m seeing her every moment, I’m never wondering what she’s doing.’”
Kelly had previously suggested that Taylor’s visibility was overshadowing some NFL games.
She said on the ‘Morning After’ podcast: “It was a smart business move for the NFL, but I felt like it was overshadowing the games. And that’s what bothered me.”
Travis has become one of the most talked-about athletes globally since starting a relationship with Taylor, and Patrick Mahomes – Travis’ teammate – previously stated that the pop star has helped turn the Chiefs into a “worldwide team.”
Patrick, 29, told Time magazine: “[The Chiefs] went from a national team that was somewhat global to a truly global team. That’s thanks to Taylor’s fanbase.”
Patrick also admitted to being impressed by Taylor’s work ethic.
He shared: “I’ve met a lot of famous people now in my life. Taylor’s probably the most humble person that’s been on that stage for that long.
“She’s never not working. Even when she’s resting, she’s working on something. Shooting a music video or singing a song or writing a song. You can tell by how she talks.”
