Caleb Williams Speculation Could Disappoint Supporters

Latest Caleb Williams Rumor Might Disappoint Fans

Caleb Williams had an impressive first season, but before stepping onto the field, one major discussion was about his jersey number in Chicago. In high school, he sported No. 18, but at USC, he transitioned to No. 13. After the Bears acquired veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen—who has always worn No. 13 in the NFL—Williams allowed the veteran to retain the number and chose No. 18 for his rookie year.

With the season concluded and speculation that the Bears and Allen could part ways, rumors have emerged about Williams potentially reverting to No. 13. Adding to this speculation is a recent Topps commercial where Williams appears alongside Jim McMahon, Topps’ VP of Player Development. In the ad, McMahon instructs Williams on signing his football cards. Interestingly, some of Williams’ autographed cards display No. 18, while others feature No. 13, leading to questions about a possible number change.

Is Williams waiting to see if Allen remains in Chicago? It’s possible. Allen has shown interest in returning to the Bears next season. However, if Williams switches numbers after just one year, it could present challenges for fans who already bought his No. 18 jersey. If that happens, Williams might need to purchase the remaining stock of No. 18 jerseys, and ideally, fans would have an option to exchange theirs for his new number.
