Roma’s £39m Bid for Crysencio Summerville Rejected by West Ham

Roma have had a £39 million (€46 million) bid for Crysencio Summerville rejected by West Ham United, with the Premier League club unwilling to sanction the sale of the Netherlands international at the proposed fee.
The Serie A side have identified Summerville as a priority attacking target this summer and made their opening move in an attempt to secure his signature. However, West Ham are understood to value the 23-year-old more highly and have no intention of letting him leave unless their valuation is met.
Summerville remains under contract at the London Stadium and is viewed as an important part of West Ham’s plans. His pace, creativity and versatility across the front line have made him one of the club’s most highly rated attacking players.
Roma are expected to consider their next steps after seeing their opening offer turned down, with further talks between the clubs possible if they decide to return with an improved proposal.
The transfer window remains open, and while negotiations could continue, no agreement has been reached at this stage.
