The Clemson Tigers’ season could hardly have started worse.
After entering the year with high expectations, Clemson was dominated by LSU in a stunning 51–10 defeat, leaving Tiger Nation searching for answers. LSU outgained Clemson by a massive margin, and the loss became the most lopsided defeat of Dabo Swinney’s Clemson tenure.
The result has naturally brought renewed attention to Swinney and the direction of the program.
But the conversation became even more intense Tuesday when Swinney was asked whether he regretted decisions surrounding Clemson’s roster construction.
The longtime Clemson coach pushed back strongly, arguing that one game should not determine the verdict on his roster or the season. Swinney pointed out that Clemson still has 11 regular-season games remaining and said those questions should be judged at the end of the season.
