Ben Chilwell is set to secure a deadline day loan move to Crystal Palace, with the two clubs finalizing details of his wage agreement.

Chilwell has been excluded from Chelsea’s squad by Enzo Maresca since the Italian took over last summer. The left-back was informed that he wasn’t in the manager’s plans for the season, but a transfer away from Stamford Bridge never materialized. As a result, he’s only made one appearance this season, a 45-minute showing in the Carabao Cup match against Barrow.
Chilwell has been seeking a move this winter and was linked to various clubs. However, according to The Athletic, Crystal Palace has now agreed to loan the England international for the remainder of the season.
Given that Chilwell hasn’t played in over four months, fitness may be a concern for Palace. Their upcoming FA Cup match against Doncaster Rovers could provide an opportunity to assess his readiness.
