On Monday night, Cooper Kupp tweeted that the Los Angeles Rams have notified him of their decision to trade him.

This led everyone in the sports community to speculate about where he might end up. At AtoZ Sports Detroit, we believe that Kupp joining Detroit is a great fit since he could serve as a valuable WR3 for the team, plus he has ties to Jared Goff and Brad Holmes. Additionally, Kupps’ representative Ryan Tollner is also Goff’s representative.

It seems that we’re not alone in feeling this way. ESPN NFL analyst Jeremy Fowler appeared on Sportscenter early Tuesday morning and mentioned that league executives informed him of four teams that are anticipated to show interest in Kupp. The Steelers, Chiefs, Commanders, and Lions.

“One league executive mentioned Detroit to me due to the link with Jared Goff.” They entered the league at the same time and both achieved Pro Bowl selections together. “That’s the kind of immediate bond we could share that might be enjoyable.”

We crafted an article discussing what type of trade the Lions might pursue for Kupp and how they could adjust his contract, but ultimately, it appears that Kupp’s deal may be somewhat pricey for the player he is now, and other teams could be wary of that.

For this reason, it seems likely that Kupp will be let go by the Rams before free agency, and he might end up in Detroit as a result. We’ll need to wait and observe what occurs in the upcoming month or two, but currently, we can say that league executives think there will be interest from Detroit.
