Controversial Former Cowboys Player Marty B Sells Super Bowl Ring

Martellus Bennett’s tenure with his hometown Dallas Cowboys was full of drama. Drafted in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft from Texas A&M, he was expected to succeed Jason Witten. Instead, “Marty B” bounced between six teams during his decade-long career, marked by unrealized potential.

However…

He ended his career with a Super Bowl ring.

And now, his connection to that ring is over.

On February 5, 2017, at the peak of his NFL journey, Bennett played on the New England Patriots team that secured a dramatic 34-28 overtime victory in Super Bowl LI against the Falcons, after being down 28-3 at halftime.

Bennett contributed with five  catches for 62 yards.

One of his rewards? A Super Bowl ring – which he just sold.

Bennett recently cashed in, auctioning his ring for $88,125.

Some fans are shocked that he would part with it, while others believe he could have gotten more considering it’s linked to Tom Brady, the GOAT, who was his quarterback.

While Brady would go on to rack up more Super Bowl wins, Bennett continued his NFL journey with several teams.

Bennett, who reportedly became the first Patriots player to sell a ring from that iconic team, began his career with the Cowboys and reached his career peak when he made the Pro Bowl as a member of the Chicago Bears.
