Super Bowl Halftime Artist Arrested, Prohibited from Attending Football Matches After Demonstrating on Field with Palestine-Sudan Banner

The NFL informed the Associated Press that the individual “will be permanently banned from all NFL venues and activities.”

A participant in Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show was apprehended by security and given a lifetime ban from professional football events for displaying a Sudanese-Palestinian flag during the show.

The National Football League informed the Associated Press that the individual “will (be) prohibited for life from all NFL venues and activities,” noting that “none of those associated with the production knew of the person’s intentions.”

In a statement given to PEOPLE on Monday, Feb. 10, the New Orleans Police Department reported that the individual was removed from the stadium but had not been detained or given a citation, and thus would not be named.

 

According to the AP, the NFL stated that the performer, who was part of the 400-member cast, “concealed the item on himself and revealed it towards the end of the show” while on a Buick GNX prop.

 

PEOPLE reached out to the NFL for a comment but did not receive a response before publication.

 

The 37-year-old rapper showcased many of his greatest hits at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, such as “HUMBLE.” and “Squabble Up,” before transitioning into the Grammy-winning single and Drake diss track “Not Like Us.”

 

The Philadelphia Eagles triumphed in the 2025 Super Bowl, decisively beating the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22.
