The Tennessee Volunteers have started the 2026 season with plenty of momentum, but Josh Heupel knows the difficulty level is about to rise.
Tennessee opened the season with a dominant 56–9 victory over Furman, putting up 638 total yards and showing plenty of explosiveness on both sides of the football.
One of the biggest stories was freshman quarterback Faizon Brandon, who made an impressive debut with three touchdown passes and two rushing touchdowns. His performance earned him SEC Freshman of the Week honors.
But despite the convincing win, Tennessee still has areas to clean up.
